Things Below or Things Above? [Poem]
Before I get in to this poem I want to say a word or two about it. Well I got inspired (Artistically that is) last night to write this after the sermon. Just reading what I wrote even convicts me--what do I treasure? Is it the things above? Well I guess I'll let you read it now.
Why do we waste our minds
On things that do not matter?
We spend all day playing games,
Or just with idle chatter.
Shouldn't we much rather look,
Into the Lord's most holy book?
Instead of filling up our mind
With anything that we can find,
With stats of athletes, or games,
Even money, work or fame.
"Where your treasure is
There your heart is also."
"Set your Affections on things above,"
And not on things below.
So you all know there hasn't been much to write about recently, so poems will have to do :P

You're very right Joey, we all need to keep things in perspective and remember that spiritual things always come before material things. We mustn't get caught up in things of this world.
