Taco Bell
I may as well post about it before I have something else major to post about (AKA: camp) So here is the story of how I got my first job.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once Upon a time there was a boy named Joey Markham. He live in a decent sized house with his parents and three brothers and two sisters, of these kids he was the oldest. In his sixteenth summer he decided he was old enough to earn a little money so he talked with his parents and they agreed to let him work a job over the summer.
The first place he tried was Northland Camp. Unfortunately he was a little slow in getting the job so, all the slots were taken before he could apply. Sadly Joey tried to think of other places.
Eventually He though of the fast food businesses. Easy jobs with more pay then he would get for allowance, so he went around applying at every fast food place he could find. The first few places didn't seem quite interested. Burger King was the first to bite. They set him up for an interview two days later. McDonald's also set young Joey up for an interview the next day.
Joey's last stop was Taco Bell. They set him up for an interview that very night. So Joey went home ate dinner and went back to Taco bell for an interview. He was five minutes early, good for a first interview. There he waited and waited. The manager who was suppose to interview was a total of thirty minutes late! Eventually he showed up, apologized, and began the interview. Joey was told he did well with this interview. He presented himself well and the manager was quite interested. The results would come via phone in two days.
The next day was the interview with McDonald's. That went well but Joey didn't seem to interest the manager much. There were the disadvantages of having to train a new person, and the fact that he was home schooled seemed to frighten her, of course it may have been all the other applicants well; many people were applying at McDonald's.
After the interview Joey stopped over to see how things were at Taco bell. He said "hi" to a worker he met while waiting for the interview and that was pretty much it.
Sunday came and after church the Markham Family stopped by Taco bell for lunch. And that was pretty much it.
Monday cam around and that was the day Joey had an interview at Burger King. Once again he did well. So much so that he could have gotten the Job. He was sent out to get a Work Permit and while he did that he stopped over to see the Manager at Taco Bell. He explained the situation and there and then he had to choose what job he was going to have. He learned that Taco Bell pays more and is a much easier job then Burger King, so that was the Job he Chose.
The beginning wasn't that hard for Joey. He watched a few tapes on fire safety, burglar safety, and how to treat customers-- Really basic stuff. Joey learned well. He started with the Prep work and with making the food, and thanks to his memory he learned quickly.
Now Joey knows how to make most of the food there and he also learned the cash register. If you stop by on the days he works be sure to find him. He may even take your order. Who knows...
