Before I get in to this poem I want to say a word or two about it. Well I got inspired (Artistically that is) last night to write this after the sermon. Just reading what I wrote even convicts me--what do I treasure? Is it the things above? Well I guess I'll let you read it now.

Why do we waste our minds
On things that do not matter?
We spend all day playing games,
Or just with idle chatter.

Shouldn't we much rather look,
Into the Lord's most holy book?
Instead of filling up our mind
With anything that we can find,
With stats of athletes, or games,
Even money, work or fame.

"Where your treasure is
There your heart is also."
"Set your Affections on things above,"
And not on things below.

So you all know there hasn't been much to write about recently, so poems will have to do :P

Well along with my last poem I decided to write a second verse to it. Here it be--

similar to the pencil, we
Are servants of our Lord.
To do what he deems best for us,
Is our mission in this world.

To do what's right,
With all our might,
As God gives us commands.
As Christians we do what e'er we're told,
(For we should be in His control)
Within our Master's hand.

Well I felt a little creative, for maybe 10 seconds, but during that time I managed to come up with something. I kinda thought it was cool so I'm posting it ^^

The Faithful Servant

He traces out his endless trail,
Through line and page alike.
He never stops unless sidetracked,
By something not quite right.

He runs all day,
And does obey,
His master's strict command.
The pencil does what e'er he's told
(For he is totally controlled)
Within his master's hand.
